Customer Spotlight: "Pantone" Air Force Ones

First and foremost, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! It's been a busy few weeks and I haven't had a chance to update for a while, but now i'm back and what better way to kick off the new year than with a new customer spotlight!

This spotlight features a custom shoe made for my friend and repeat customer Saul Colt. This is the fourth shoe that i've done for Saul (check out past commissions done for Saul here, here, and here) and it was also not only the most complex and challenging of the four, but the most challenging design i've done in my career so far...challenging but fun.

When Saul contacted me with his idea of designing two pairs of shoes to match a chair (one pair for him and another for a friend), I thought the idea sounded interesting. It got more interesting when he sent me a picture of the chair....

When I saw this picture, I knew I was in for a challenge! However, I told Saul I was definitely up to the task (a true artist has to challenge themselves sometimes). The chair is designed after a color chart from color product company Pantone. This was the first time I made a shoe using such a huge amount of colors (30+!), and the idea was to make the shoes match the color chart/chair. After a little brainstorming and incorporating various shades or reds, blues, yellows, purples, greens, etc. here is the finished product:

I think of every pair of shoes I have ever made, these took the most amount of time and attention but the finished product came out very well. Going into this project, I actually made a list of what colors I would use and laid out an idea of where each color would go on the shoe (I also referred to the chair pic dozens of times). Not sure whether or not Saul has this actual chair, but it would be pretty awesome if he does!

This design was created as a 2-of-2 design and will not be duplicated, but you can still inquire about your own commissioned pair of shoes by contacting info@ecentrikart.net.
